The Oratory School welcomed Lieutenant General Richard J Cripwell CB CBE, Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey as Reviewing Officer for their Combined Cadet Force (CCF) biennial inspection.

It was the first inspection held in four years due to the Covid pandemic.

During the inspection, The Oratory cadets welcomed the General with an honour guard ably assisted by the Corps of Drums.

This was followed by a series of activities to show off the skills and knowledge of the cadets, which included a VR flight simulator, Royal Navy Field Gun, Paint Ball Close Quarter Battle Lane and First Aid Incident Scenario.

The afternoon concluded with the General giving a short address to the parade.

General Cripwell was impressed with what he had seen from the cadets and the stunning school facilities.

Major Scott Bosher, Contingent Commander, said: "Our cadets and staff had been working hard in recent weeks in preparation of the General’s visit and have done themselves and the school proud."
