Oratory School pupils join National Youth Training Choir

Three pupils from The Oratory School have won places to join the National Youth Training Choir, following a rigorous audition process. The Choir sits at the heart of National Youth Choir GB and provides a training ground for singers to develop their vocal and musicianship skills.

The singing ability of three Oratory School pupils has been rewarded by winning places to join a national youth choir.

The pupils – T Smith, O Rae and A Donnai-Jessop – have been awarded places in the National Youth Training Choir, following a rigorous audition process.

The Choir sits at the heart of National Youth Choir GB and provides a training ground for singers to develop their vocal and musicianship skills.

Director of Music Stephen Burrows said: "We are very proud of our wonderful young Oratory musicians, who now have their singing ability and love of music recognised at a national level."

The Oratory School is an independent day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 11 to 18, set in a beautiful 100-acre rural location near Reading. The school was founded in 1859 by Saint John Henry Newman to provide an alternative to other Catholic establishments of the time. Today, it welcomes pupils of all faiths and of none.
