New Head for Maida Vale School

Magnus Bashaarat has been announced as the new Head of Maida Vale School in London, taking up the post in April 2023. During the Spring Term, parents, staff and pupils will have the opportunity to meet Mr Bashaarat as part of the transition process and he will also attend the school's Open Events.

Gardener Schools Group has announced the appointment of Magnus Bashaarat as the new Head Teacher of Maida Vale School in London.

Mr Bashaarat will take up the position in April 2023 from the current Head, Steven Winter.

During the Spring Term, parents, staff and pupils will have the opportunity to meet Mr Bashaarat as part of the transition process and he will also attend the school's Open Events.

Mr Bashaarat read English at Edinburgh University and worked as a journalist before completing his teacher training at King’s College, London.

He began his career at Sherborne School in Dorset and then moved to Eton College where he spent fifteen years, seven of them as a house master.

He then moved as Deputy Head to Stowe School in Buckinghamshire before joining Milton Abbey School, Dorset, as Head in 2013, and then to Bedales School in Hampshire as Head in 2018.

Maida Vale School is an independent day school for boys and girls aged 11 to 18 in West London. The school was founded in 2020 by teachers Maria and Edward Gardener, opening its doors with 55 pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9. Find out more about Maida Vale School.
