Why choose Maida Vale School?

It is part of a group of schools, including two prep schools (Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School and Kew Green Preparatory School), and it was the parents of children at these schools who urged the Directors to open a co-educational secondary school, first with Kew House School in 2013 and then later with Maida Vale.

Attain asked the school, what makes Maida Vale School different – and why should parents consider it?

Founded in September 2020 by the Gardener Schools Group in a large Victorian school building that has been refurbished to the highest standard, Maida Vale School stands out because it puts every individual pupil at the centre of all that it does.

A holistic and well-resourced curriculum centred on creativity in all its senses is underpinned by outstanding pastoral care and a focus on pupil well-being. Our exceptional teaching team means that pupils achieve significantly above expected progress in all areas.

Pupils have a huge array of enrichment clubs, trips and sports to choose from, which lead to the Gardener Schools Award which seeks to encourage pupils to make the most of these opportunities.

The school's open-door policy is crucial to our sense of community and care. Parents have access to a beautiful Parent Café throughout the school day and if parents need to meet with any member of staff they can do so at short notice in that space.

Unusually for a London day school, the vast majority of our pupils live within 1.5 miles which means they remain rooted in their own communities and their friends are also close by.
