Two pupils at The Leys have been placed in the U16 Top 100 Tennis Players in Great Britain.

Year 11 pupils Marton and Jack have been placed 30th and 93rd respectively.

To place in the U16 Top 100 Tennis Players both Marton and Jack played around 200 games, travelling around the country most weekends, gathering points for each win to determine their overall ranking.

Jack said: "Playing games each weekend is a real joy and a challenge, I am excited to do it all again this year.

"When I am on the court there is no one else to blame for my short comings.

"It is just me and my opponent, and I love that about the game."

Marton said: "I have been playing tennis from a young age and it has taught me so much about time management and discipline.

"I am looking forward to the new year and hope to improve with each match."
