Scholarship success at The Beacon

Year 8 pupils at The Beacon School in Amersham celebrated a wide range of scholarships, awards and exhibitions to a variety of leading independent senior schools.
Edward Tenison, Head of Upper School, said: "We are very proud of our boys for achieving so much during their final two years at The Beacon and are confident they will go on to achieve great things on the next journey in life."
The Upper School programme at The Beacon aims to fully prepare boys for everything involved with moving on to senior school – from entrance exams, meeting deadlines and choosing the right school.
At the heart of the curriculum is the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate (PSB) programme which promotes skills such as independent learning, critical thinking, leadership and team-working.
The 2021/2022 academic year saw pupils achieve Drama Scholarships and Exhibitions, Sports, Academic and DT Scholarships to a variety of schools including Harrow School, Abingdon School, Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School, Haileybury, Merchant Taylors' School, Shiplake College, Berkhamsted Boys' School and Winchester College.
Simon Detre, Deputy Headmaster, added: "We are delighted with the range of scholarships awarded to a number of our Year 8 boys.
"This clearly demonstrates the breadth of skills and talents they possess.
"They worked extremely hard in pursuit of these coveted awards. Well done and congratulations!"
