Congratulations to Ryde School 1st XV rugby team who won the Hampshire Rugby Football Union Shield Final last week against Itchen College.

The game ended as a win to Ryde with phase after phase of impenetrable defence within the Ryde 5m line.

There was also strong counter attack play from the back line and forwards, maintaining width to spread the Itchen defence and exploit the space created.

It was a great day all round for the team with lovely weather and pitch conditions at Winchester RFC.

It proved to be a wonderful send off for the Upper Sixth players, in particular Captain Kai M-P.

Player of the match was Reuben C for an incredible performance on both sides of the ball.
