Lower Sixth Ryde School student Annabel has been awarded the role of His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant Cadet for the year.

The Lord-Lieutenant Awards Ceremony and presentation evening for the Isle of Wight was hosted on Tuesday 4th October at The Royal Yacht Squadron and three cadets were appointed to assist the Lord-Lieutenant on official duties.

Annabel was presented with a badge and certificate by Mrs Susie Sheldon, Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight.

Annabel said: "It is an absolute honour to be chosen and I hope that getting this award will inspire others to join CCF."

Ryde School's Contingent Commander Lieutenant Sophie Broyé said: "Annabel is an outstanding cadet who has continued to assist her CO with the delivery of our CCF training programme and, even during Covid, she continued to support CCF and our cadets online.

"Annabel always volunteers to be part of any extra CCF activities.

"We are very proud that this is the second year in a row that a Ryde School cadet has been appointed to be His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant Cadet."
