Dauntsey's Equestrian Team are celebrating a successful year which culminated with three teams competing at the National Schools' Eventers Challenge Championships at Hickstead.

Qualifying for this competition is an achievement in itself and competing teams of four have to demonstrate their ability by jumping a course of showjumps, followed immediately by some cross country style fences, ditches, steps and water complexes, as well as completing the course in an optimum time with penalties for being too fast or too slow.

This year, girls from Year 7 through to Year 12 competed from Dauntsey's in three teams of heights – 70cm, 80cm and 90cm classes – with the 70cm class team finishing in fourth place.

Lucie McNichol, Head of Riding said: "It has been an exciting year for riding at Dauntsey's and it has been fantastic to see the team making the most of all of the opportunities and challenges that have been put in front of them.

"Our riding team at Dauntsey's has always been inclusive of all ages and abilities and the commitment and dedication from our talented pupils this year could not be a better example of that.

"We are very excited to see what next year will bring for the group, both as individuals and in their teams."
