Brentwood's triple chess success

Three pupils from Brentwood School have won their respective events at the London Junior Chess Championships. Nina was crowned London Girls' Under 18 Champion, Max took the Under 16 Champion title and Jaden became Under 14 Minor Champion.

Three pupils from Brentwood School won prestigious chess accolades over the festive period.

Chess Captain Nina in Year 10 was crowned London Girls' Under 18 Champion, Max in Year 8 took the Under 16 Champion title and Jaden in Year 8 became Under 14 Minor Champion.

The London Junior Chess Championships are one of the strongest events in the UK chess calendar and have been running for nearly 100 years.

Individual games can last over four hours and attract the best young chess players.
