Curriculum

Withington follows the National Curriculum but goes beyond it, exploring further educational topics combined with other experiences and trips. In Years 7 to 9, there are 40 lesson sessions per week and in Year 11 pupls take nine GCSEs (or 10 with Further Maths). At Sixth Form, girls combine the study of three or four specialist subjects with new learning experiences, such as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Pastoral care

Withington's relatively small size means that every pupil is known and support is tailored to individual needs. The school is proud of its exceptionally warm, friendly and caring environment where academic success is combined with vital personal and social development.

Extracurricular

The school believes strongly that 'extra-curricular activities are key to a full and rounded education, contribute to physical and mental wellbeing and help our pupils to develop confidence and skills in creativity, communication, time management, leadership, critical thinking and resilience'. There are a huge range of clubs and societies on offer from coding to garage band, photography through to sign language. For sport, there is something to inspire everyone whether in performance sport, recreation or physical wellbeing. And for the performing arts, there is a fantastic range of musical instruments on offer alongside opportunities for drama productions.

The school is proud of its bursary programme, enabling girls to have the opportunity to join Withington regardless of their family's financial position. Fees in the Junior School start at £5,086 per term rising to £6,666 in the Senior School.
