- Berkhamsted School is a coed pre-prep, prep and senior school, offering both day and boarding places.
- The school welcomes approximately 2,000 pupils with boys and girls aged from 5 months to 18 years.
- Berkhamsted School is located at Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire.
Boys and girls are taught together until the age of 11 at the Pre-Prep and Prep, separately at 11 to 16 (at Berkhamsted Boys and Berkhamsted Girls) and then together for a joint Sixth Form. The other school in the group, Heatherton, is a prep school for girls aged 3 to 11 and boys 3 to 5.
The school was founded in 1541 by the then Dean of St Paul's Cathedral, John Incent. Berkhamsted aims to foster a spirit of adventure in pupils, offering a high quality education and care for boys and girls.
The school introduced a 'metacognitive approach' to ensure pupils become 'confident, curious and independent learners – equipped with relevant habits and skills.' In addition, the school has three key values which are embedded at the heart of everything it does: aim high with integrity, be adventurous, and serve others.
