St. Francis’ College is a thriving community of just over 350 girls, providing a modern education based on Christian principles. The students are aged from 3 to 18 years old and all receive individual care promoting their spiritual, moral, intellectual, creative and physical development. The school recognises the unique qualities of each student and encourages social responsibility and respect for others.
About the school
Academic results are consistently excellent and the school is one of the top girl’s schools in the UK. St. Francis’ girls successfully progress onto the UK’s top universities, including Cambridge and Oxford. Small class sizes, individual attention and a supportive, caring environment help ensure that each and every girl enjoys their education and reaches their full potential, academically, socially and in a wide range of extra-curricular pursuits.
The school offers a diverse range of sporting opportunities for all girls to experience. From the main sports of hockey, netball, tennis and rounders to gymnastics, dance, swimming, football, athletics, badminton, self-defence, trampolining, aerobics and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, we aim to guide our girls towards a healthy lifestyle and introduce them to lifelong sporting opportunities.

Scholarships, Bursaries & Fees
A Fees Assistance (Bursary) scheme is available for entry at 11+, 13+ and 16+.
The bursaries are awarded on the basis of financial need.
Additional bursaries are also available for current students at a critical point in their education should financial need dictate.
All bursaries are reviewed annually.
It is possible to hold a bursary and a scholarship.
Continuous Education Allowance
The College provides additional funding for the daughters of Armed Forces personnel who qualify for the CEA. Please contact the Bursary for more details..
A number of Academic Scholarships are awarded to the best candidates on the basis of performance in the College’s Entrance Examination.
The value of the scholarship award is up to 20%.
To be considered for admission, prospective pupils must first apply and pay a non-refundable application fee of £100. Places in the Kindergarten are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
From Reception upwards, all applicants undergo a form of assessment appropriate to their age group and the College requests an academic reference from their current school.
Please note that in some year groups there will be more candidates sitting entrance exams than spaces available and a waiting list will be put in place.
Should your daughter be placed on the waiting list you will be informed in your offer letter. Deferred entry will be offered to successful candidates in Year 6 who wish to remain at their current school until joining the College in Year 9. The offer will be dependent on the pupil making good academic progress in Years 7 and 8 and the College receiving a satisfactory academic reference from their current school prior to joining.
