Sedbergh School were delighted to be named the winner of the award for 'Best Community Involvement' at this year’s in-Cumbria Business Awards.

The in-Cumbria Business Awards returned in person this year, with more than 200 of the county’s top businesspeople joining in the celebrations.

Sedbergh School scooped the award for Best Community Involvement, recognised for their on-going support to the local community and increased efforts throughout the Covid-19 pandemic to support those who needed help most

As well as being recognised at last year’s BSA awards for their work in the community, a member of staff at Sedbergh School (Dr Myles Ripley) also received individual praise, being named a Community Hero by South Lakes Housing for his efforts in the local community.

David Milner, Director of Marketing & International Relations at Sedbergh School, attended the event and received the award.

"We are delighted to win the Community Involvement Award at this year’s in-Cumbria Business Awards," he said.

"As a whole school we are committed to supporting local and surrounding communities and we are honoured to receive this recognition.

"Our pupils work tirelessly throughout the year and we are very much looking forward to launching our next ‘Sedbergh Gives Back’ campaign and supporting many more charities, projects, businesses and individuals."
