Putney Pupils Collaborate on Wandsworth Art Project
Putney High School has been spearheading the work of the Wandsworth Schools Partnership with a collaborative art project entitled A Place to Call Home which opened to the public on Friday 4th March at Southside Shopping Centre.

Putney High School have been spearheading the work of the Wandsworth Schools Partnership this year with a collaborative art project supported by the Wandsworth Arts Service.
The A Place to Call Home project is the culmination of months of collaborative work between state and independent school students in Putney and Roehampton.
The A Place to Call Home exhibition is the colourful result of their joint work – an art installation on display at Southside Shopping Centre.
Pupils from Putney High School’s Years 5 and 7 have been working with pupils from Oasis Primary school to produce their contribution to the artwork – a number of colourful panels that form the larger installation.
The aim has been very much to encourage a sense of being part of the local community in response to the isolation felt during the pandemic.
The Mayor of Wandsworth attended to open the exhibition, as well as local artist, Alexander Mourant who has been leading the project working with Wandsworth Council’s children’s services and arts teams, and more than 2,000 students from 51 local schools.
He explained: "A Place to Call Home seeks to unify and foster links between independent and state schools in the borough of Wandsworth to nurture conversation and future collaboration."
The exhibition opened on Wednesday 2nd March and goes on show to the general public from Friday 4th to Friday 25th March.
