Pupils at Lady Eleanor Holles celebrated as they received their GCSE results.

Head Mistress Mrs Hanbury said: "I have been so impressed with the fortitude and perseverance that the students have displayed during what has been the most challenging time.

"Although our pupils did not sit public examinations this summer, the process in arriving at these grades was incredibly rigorous, drawing on a wide range of evidence available for each of our students.

"This enabled us to provide a result which offered a fair reflection of what pupils would have been likely to achieve had they sat their exams.

"Much thanks should go to our staff for their diligence in ensuring that students were awarded grades that truly reflected their abilities and potential, and for the support that they have continued to provide throughout."

She continued: "I am incredibly proud of the mature and courageous way the pupils have coped with the many obstacles that they have faced.

"I hope they will now enjoy celebrating their success with their families and friends, and we look forward to welcoming them back to School in September."
