Students at City of London Freemen’s School in Ashtead are celebrating outstanding A Level results again this year, despite the challenges that the COVID pandemic has brought over the last 18 months.

95% of all grades achieved were A*- B and the percentage of A* grades awarded (49%) continues to be the one of the highest on record.

Headmaster Roland Martin said: "I extend my congratulations all A Level students on their resilience throughout this challenging time.

Our students and those across the country have had both years of their A Level courses impacted by lockdown and the uncertainty around how grades will be assessed and awarded.

They have demonstrated huge courage and determination in the face of shifting messages from central Government and have succeeded against a backdrop of disruption."

He continued: "Despite the challenges for both students and staff, I am delighted with the results.”
