Leweston Prep were lucky enough to have a visit from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, along with their fire engine.
The pupils spent the morning with the Dorset Fire prevention team, learning about fire safety and what measures they can take to ensure safety for themselves, as well as others.
The pupils explored a range of investigations and role play activities under the supervision and help from the Dorset Fire staff.
The pupils were then allowed to inspect the fire appliance, learning about all the different tools that the firefighters use when saving people from a fire in a building, vehicle or in an outside environment.
The most exciting part for the pupils was sitting inside the fire applicance and learning about the radios and flashlights that the firefighters use – as well as trying on the helmets!
The school was very grateful to the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue team for taking the time to visit Leweston and teach the pupils about fire safety.
