Pupils at Cheltenham Ladies' College are celebrating exceptional A Level and GCSE results.

The A Level Class of 2022 has secured places to study at a range of top universities across the UK, including Bristol, Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Imperial, London College of Fashion, Manchester, Oxford and Warwick, as well as world-leading US colleges including UCLA, Brown, Boston University and Vanderbilt.

A number of students have also secured places to study at prestigious universities in Canada, Ireland and Spain, while others have opted to start their own business or pursue a professional sports career.

Across the cohort, more than three quarters of results (77%) are A* and A grades, with over half of all A Level pupils (58%) achieving three or more A*/A grades.

Principal Eve Jardine-Young said: "I am delighted not only by the outstanding results that our IB and A Level pupils have achieved, but also by the maturity, dedication and perseverance they have displayed throughout the pandemic.

"The disruption to their GCSEs and subsequent exam cancellations due to the pandemic mean that this is their first experience of public examinations.

"These exceptional results are just one of many reasons that we feel extremely proud of them."

At GCSE, more than three quarters of students (77%) at Cheltenham Ladies' College achieved seven or more results awarded at the highest A* / 9-8 grades.

Eve Jardine-Young continued: "I have been delighted by the maturity with which they have handled these complex situations, including the switch to hybrid digital / on-site lessons for a large proportion of their GCSE studies.

"These excellent results are a testament to their hard work and perseverance over the last two years."

Pupils have achieved these exceptional GCSE results, while also pursuing a range of co-curricular activities and awards.

These have included Duke of Edinburgh Awards, performances with national theatre companies and music groups, campaigning and volunteering work, selection for national debating, poetry, art, and essay competitions, and competing in a wide range of regional, country and national sporting competitions.
