Godolphin Preparatory School

An outstanding day & boarding education for girls aged 3 to 11 in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

About the school

Let your child be who they want to be…  Children love to explore, to make-believe and create vibrant worlds around them where anything is possible. Why not harness this freedom to give your children confidence and inspire them as they grow.

Girls at Godolphin Prep are encouraged to do what they love. Extensive playing fields, a swimming pool and a gym, offer plenty of opportunities to try different sports, whilst the Performing Arts Centre (and dress-up box!) gives girls the chance to explore drama and music. Computing lessons are popular, and with more than 20 after-school activities you just know your daughter will find something to make her happy.

“We are passionate about giving children the opportunity to find out who they are and discover what they love in life” says Prep Head Julia Miller. “By trying new things and exploring the world around them, they naturally develop positive attitudes to learning which will last a lifetime.”

If this sounds like too much fun, rest assured that learning and critical thinking run alongside girls’ social development, and results are great. There is a big focus on STEM and girls are fortunate to have the use of the Science, Design Technology and Computer Science.

Godolphin Prep’s happy, ‘have a go’ atmosphere attracts families from across the 40-mile radius served by the school bus. “I love the family feeling of the Prep,” Year 6 parent, whose daughter goes up to the Senior School this year “and my daughter has blossomed thanks to Godolphin’s fabulously supportive approach.”

Please do come and visit us to see the Prep in action.   We welcome parents and girls to come along to an open morning or for a one-to-one visit to meet the staff and pupils who make Godolphin Prep such a special place.  Please go to www.godolphin.org/bookavisit.

Admissions Process

During your daughter's visit day, depending on her age, we will assess her reading, spelling, writing and mathematics through testing, observation and discussion. Our Head of Admissions, Corinna Florence, will also ask for a written report from your daughter's current school for girls entering Year 1 or above.

Parents who are considering Godolphin Prep for their daughter must complete a Registration Form and return it to our Head of Admissions, with a copy of their daughter’s birth certificate. A registration fee of £50 is payable when registering and this will then mean your daughter is on our list for potential entry, but by no means commits you to the School. An offer of a place is dependent upon the outcome of her visit to the School.

Once an offer of a place has been made, we ask parents to complete and return an acceptance form with a non-refundable acceptance fee of £100 for UK and EU nationals and one term’s boarding fees for non-EU nationals.
